Dear God, one soul for every vertebrae 😭 The horrifying nature of the place versus the mundane kitchen apron, the paring knife, the guy just making snacks and tea... it's hilarious. And then Chad is there to sell him air conditioning 😂 I also loved the way this walks the line between horror and comedy. It's firmly a comedy, but it keeps touching all these horror elements while also taking us through basically a perfect sales sequence. Chad compliments the house, talks through his situation, makes him feel understood and seen, and slowly takes him through the process. Still, gonna try to drop something in each chat, each day this week if I can. **Favourite Line/s:** XTHR’G stared intently at the product information. “SORRY, I ALWAYS READ THE FINE PRINT. THAT’S WHERE THEY FUCK YOU.” That’s gold! Who better than a demon to know the dangers of skimming the contract? Buyer beware indeed! **Critique:** Okay, this better be a series, because I’m looking forward to seeing whatever else Chad Hardwick ( great name by the way ) is able to flog off to the denizens of the pit. Scythe sharpeners? Hellhound training collars? This is very funny, and uses the inherent ridiculousness of its premise to great effect. It also immediately made me ask questions- is Hardwick dead? Is he just visiting? Be he angel, demon or…other? I mean, I don’t need to know the answers- it’s not required to enjoy it- but the fact that I want to know so badly is a strength of the story's less-is-more quality. On that note, I like how you’ve used your imagery to just hint at the hideous, eternal horrors that XTHR’G and his home evoke, contrasted with its domesticity: *“The thing between the pillars was twelve feet of blood-seeping exposed muscle and antlered skull. It wore an apron and was holding a paring knife.”* What more do you need? Spring-boarding off *that*, I do think that the story would benefit from a little bit of imagery or description in the second half. Nothing that would remove its brevity or comedic impact. Just another line or two with the same impact as those first couple of paragraphs. Perhaps something about the furniture, or the decor, or the way the demon does its domestic duties, or sits, or moves…that can keep us from- not forgetting exactly, but getting too comfortable with its hideousness. {Reactions} ❤️ (2) [8/10/2026 6:58 AM] hellerbard_36669 **OVERALL:** This is a humorous, cleverly written tale about the world’s most unflappable salesperson making an impossible sale…three, even.
