Favorite Scene: Where he reminds Vanya of the knights story and realization of what it means. Constructive Criticism: phasers set to 🔥 - The tension in this scene is really great, and you keep us on our feet once we get to the airlock. I have to wonder if some of the exposition before the airlock could've been delivered or shown in an earlier chapter. Let us focus on the tension of this moment rather than things that feel more like set up. I didn't get full clarity of this scene, so I didn't fully grasp the importance of it. I exited that scene understanding some struggle had ensued, Jewel got her way and got her power. The entire time Vanya was climbing outside, I was uncomfortable because Sun clearly knows he could be sending his grandson to his death. He even starts thinking “If I could take your place…” and that f’er can’t even finish the thought. Something about this wasn’t sitting right with me. This entire section was wildly uncomfortable and I mean that in the best possible way. The stuff about Cyonics, Virtual, Captain Phillip, John Alexander, Jewel taking power, why people kept installing Cyonics in their children, etc. is important… I get that, But there's a stretch around the climb where I felt the story slow down while Sun remembered/explained history. And the problem is that the immediate situation is already really interesting: old pissed off man putting his grandson in a vacuum suit as part of some coded plan. I wanted to stay right there with him. My suggestion is to trim a little bit of that history and redistribute it around.
